While our individual stories of grief are unique and belong only to us, the emotions of grief are universal. Grief not expressed becomes grief stored, and that can become heavy. But grief is not a wholly emotional experience. What is oftentimes overlooked is the physical experience of grief. These sensations take up space in deep corners of the body and can manifest as pain, fatigue, and low energy.
In this 2-hour workshop, participants will be invited to gently and safely explore grief that has taken hold in the body. Once encountered, you can choose to keep what you need, and using the gentle movement of yoga, let go of what is no longer serving you.
An exercise in meditation and journaling will be offered to help guide participants into awareness and connection. Bolsters and blocks will be used to help support the body as we release into poses and use the breath to express and release.
This is an all-levels workshop. $35 ($30 for NYC3 members)
